In short, UK drivers require a standard Category B driving licence to drive motorhomes below 3,500kg in weight. For motorhomes which exceed 3,500kg but are under 7,500kg, a Category C1 licence is required. If the motorhome weighs over 7,500kg, a Category C licence is required. You should always check your specific vehicle’s weight and ensure the licence matches the required category so that you drive legally.
